Continuum of Care
Burlington will offer a full continuum of care options ranging from independent houses, and serviced houses through to rest home, hospital and dementia level care. The senior management team, who are also part-owners and directors, have been operating aged care facilities for over 25 years and are highly experienced in caring for the elderly.
The majority of rest home and hospital rooms will be more than double the size found in a standard aged care facility, providing apartment style living.
Burlington directors (and part-owners) John Ryder, Simon O'Dowd and Wendy Fleming were founding members and trustees of Health Ed Trust (NZ) Inc - a charitable trust that educated over 25,000 aged care workers in NZQA approved courses. The trust has merged with the Industry Training Organisation, Careerforce.
Within Burlington’s Care Centre our aim is to nurture a friendly, warm, homely environment that promotes individual freedom and security – an environment in which each person can identify his or her own space and can have privacy, or welcome friends and family, in comfort.
As residents have unique and often fluctuating needs, we take a holistic approach to healthcare. An individualised aged care plan is designed for each resident’s physical, social and emotional well-being. This is developed in consultation with the resident, his or her family, whanau or representative, our medical and nursing staff and other health professionals.
Burlington is committed to meeting the requirements of the Privacy Act 1993, the Health Information Privacy Code 1994 and the Health Regulations 1996.
